Rogalandslag

Is a bygdelag (see Fellesraad) of the descendents of Rogaland Norway (we would like to have members in Rogaland in addition to our current members in the United States) that emigrated to the United States of America. It meets yearly with several other bygdelag (Møre og Romsdal, Sognefjord, Voss, Nordhordland, Sunnhordland, Sunnfjord, and Hardanger) for a stevne that combines genealogy and heritage. It also shares in the Vestlandet quarterly with these bygdelags.

Scans of the large 1913, 1915, 1928 and one indeterminant date stevne photos are now available for viewing (NOTE the loading of the high resolution versions takes a long time due to the size of the scans) at: Old Stevne Pictures. These images are available through the help of NAHA (Norwegian-American Historical Association), Dale Haaland (who actually produced them) and the donations to NAHA of pictures in lag members archives (1913 - Roy Levik of Truman MN; 1915 - Marilyn Somdahl of Bloomington MN, indeterminate Marian Aaker of Richfield MN). The donations and scanning of these pictures will help preserve this information for posterity. I think the results are actually better then the originals.
